If you’re not familiar with hybrid campers, they appear almost identical to your standard, hard wall camping trailer in transit mode. When set up at your camping destination, the sides or ends can fold or pop out, with all-weather canvas sleeping spaces.
Essentially an expandable travel trailer, these pop outs give you more floor space by extending out the sleeping space. They tend to shave off some trailer weight compared to a hard wall trailer of similar square footage. There are other unique camping trailer variants that some manufacturers label hybrids as well, but here we’ll focus on those with trailer tent pop-outs.
