The explosion of popularity within both the teardrop trailer and overland markets has led to some great niche trailer manufacturers popping up throughout the U.S. One of these companies is Blue Ridge Expedition Trailers in North Carolina. Also known as BRX Trailers, these rugged teardrops are clearly built to take on the road less traveled.
The trailer itself is called the BRX1. It comes in two models: the Uwharrie and the Pisgah. Each is hand-crafted and built to order, including paint or vinyl wrap to customer’s request.
BRX1 Frame and Suspension
You know you’re dealing with a serious off-roading trailer when it includes 3,500 lb Timbren Axle-less suspension, which bolts to a heavy duty steel frame that is welded and powder-coated. Rubber on the road are 275/65 tires on 18 inch wheels. BRX1 has stopping power, with 12 inch electric brakes.
Trailer Electrical
BRX1 stores power in two, deep cycle marine batteries (12-Volt). LED lighting (interior/exterior), accessory ports and a power monitor are included. A solar charing opiton is also offered.
BRX1 Galley
Along with a stainless steel counter in the galley, LED lighting, full cabinetry, a slide-out drawer with a space for a propane stove and a slide out for a fridge/cooler are also standard.
