Anza Borrego Desert State Park

Anza Borrego Desert State Park (760-767-5311) is over 600,000 acres in the Colorado Desert and contains 3 campgrounds that have accessible features which are listed below:

 

Borrego Palm Canyon Campground

Tent Campsites: There are 3 tent sites that are accessible for the disabled.
Full RV Hook-Up Campsites: There are 2 sites which are accessible.

Restrooms: There are 5 accessible restrooms with separate showers spread throughout the campground and each has an adjacent accessible parking space.


Tamarisk Grove Campground

There are two accessible campsites available. One campsite has an accessible restroom and shower nearby, with an accessible parking space next to it.


Bow Willow Campground

There are two accessible campsites available and one accessible non-flush restroom.



Cassel Campground

Located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Voted by Trails.com as one of the best Northern California campgrounds. Handicap accessible campsites feature compacted dirt and gravel, and the campgrounds have accessible restroom and showers as well.

 

A notable feature, five trails are specifically designed to accomodate people living with disabilities. Revelation trail is optimized particularly for those with visual impairment. Big Tree, Campfire Center, Readwood Access and Prairie Creek Trails have parking for the disabled and accessible trails/paths.

Half Moon Bay State Beach Campground

Half Moon Bay State Beach Campground is a four mile stretch of beach located a half-mile west of Highway 1 on Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay.

Francis Beach campground in Half Moon Bay has a total of 52 individual campsites, with four accessible campsites and two accessible restrooms without showers. It also has a campfire center that is accessible. In addition, Francis Beach has accessible parking, restrooms and a beach wheelchair.

Red Rock Canyon State Park

Located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Range. Features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations.

 

The visitor center and parking area are fully handicap accessible with two designated handicap campsites in the Ricardo Campground.
